12 Nov The Birds and The Running Bees
As Bird Consultancy recently turned the big 3-0, it’s important to take a moment to reflect not just on our highlights and our successes as a company, but the significant changes we’ve been involved in making to the lives of others.
We’re always thrilled when we get the chance to work with a client who shares our passion for giving back to the community. And one client of ours who undoubtedly falls firmly into this category is The Running Bee Foundation.
Initially launched in December 2018, The Running Bee Foundation hosts numerous top-tier race events in and around the North West, ALL profits from the events will go back into the communities where these events take place. The Running Bee Foundation aims to improve the health and well-being of local residents and to help tackle the challenge of childhood obesity. It does this by making grants available to community groups and local charities in the towns and cities where the events take place.
These events are always unmissable attractions for both amateur runners looking to challenge themselves as well as competitive runners looking to beat their own personal bests
On top of this, the events are always tons of fun for all the family, with many families getting in on the running action, cheering on from the sidelines, or even getting the kids involved in one of the fun runs that’s featured alongside the main event or MyFirst Mile™.
Bird has had the pleasure of assisting The Running Bee Foundation every single step of the way since launch. We even created the brand for The Running Bee Foundation long with the launch event held at MediaCityUK.
Since then, Bird has been on-hand providing social media support at every Running Bee Foundation event, including promoting events online, pre and post-race day. This includes such favourites as the SPAR City of Preston 10K, the City of Salford 10K, the City of Manchester 10k (now known as the We Love Our NHS Manchester 10K as a thank-you to the selfless heroes of the NHS and their efforts during the coronavirus crisis) and, or course, all 4 days of the iconic Tour of Tameside.
Since its inception, the Foundation has been focused on raising funds for local communities, and didn’t stop the recent coronavirus pandemic get in the way of getting the job done!
In the interests of everyone’s safety, The Running Bee chose to host a series of virtual events, which would allow avid runners to complete their chosen race length in a location of their choice, giving them the chance to adhere to all social-distancing measures that were in place at the time of the events.
We were also heavily involved with the recent launch of the Running Bee’s brand new line of running merchandise (Bird has handled social media and all content creation for the launch) created in partnership with RonHill Sports – one of the country’s leading sportswear brands. Again, of course, all profits will be going straight back to the communities the Running Bee serves.
And, in 2021, the Foundation will be hosting even more events than ever before in brand new locations, to make sure that anybody and everybody who loves being active and healthy, will have the chance to participate and change lives for a whole new group of people in their local areas.
We here at Bird are proud to help a foundation like The Running Bee Foundation every day and are so enthusiastic about seeing them help people #BeeActiveBeeHealthyBeeHappy.
