The Virtual Grand National Paid Advertising Campaign
The Virtual Grand National was developed alongside ‘Grand National Race of Champions’ which pit legendary horses from the past 100 years against each other over the Grand National course. Both races were featured in ITV’s main race day coverage as the channel became the host broadcaster for the first time in its history.
Bird was asked to create a social media presence for the launch of the brand-new television event – The Virtual Grand National.
What we did
With only a matter of weeks until the Virtual Grand National was to air of ITV4, it was crucial to ensure that a big impact was created to the exact target audience.
We created targeted adverts across Facebook to promote the trailer for The Virtual Grand National. Bird created the exact persona of a typical horse racing fan, and then served them a tailored advert featuring a video showing the whole process of The Virtual Grand National.
In the short space of 1 week, Bird generated exposure in the form of 90,000+ video views. The press release was also served to over 60,000 targeted individuals.
