Manchester PR agency, Bird Consultancy, have been full-on during the pandemic, securing another new client Great Minds Together, while also celebrating 30 years in business.

Great Minds Together, based in Stockport, is a not-for-profit organisation providing much-needed wraparound services for families who need practical and emotional help for children with SEND (Special educational needs and disabilities) and/or SEMH (Social, emotional and mental health) needs.

Over the past 12 months, the team at Great Minds Together have expanded their reach through its remote offering and are now working with 44 local authorities across the country. They are making waves in Parliament too acting as a voice for the impact caused in the most recent lockdown and highlighting the challenges of remote learning for children with SEND.

Securing the  Great Minds Together contract arrived on the heels of Bird Consultancy’s 30th birthday celebrations, which came at the end of 2020.

The agency was founded by Chris Bird in 1990, who at the time was Sales & Promotions Controller at Piccadilly Radio. Chris wanted to create an agency that delivered a personal approach to PR and provided tangible, commercial results for clients.

30 years on and Chris and his team have worked with a variety of clients from sport, entertainment, leisure, retail, travel and housing, including big names such as JD Sports, The Daily Telegraph, Barry Hearn, Frank Warren, Your Housing Group, BetFred, Sports Tours International, Manchester City FC and England Boxing.

Bird have also supported many charities including CAFÉ (Centre for Access to Football in Europe), We Love MCR and continue to work closely with The Running Bee Foundation.

Chris has now come full circle and returned to where his media career started back in 1982 in local news and radio as Executive Chairman of the Quest Media Network, which includes Tameside Radio, Tameside Reporter, Glossop Chronicle and Oldham Reporter. Alongside the Bird Consultancy, Chris has now created the ‘Hyper-Local’ media network he predicted almost 10 years ago that he one day would. Commenting CEO and Founder of Bird, Chris Bird, said; “I am very proud to still be going strong after 30 years. In what has been a challenging time for many businesses, we have continued to support our clients throughout, and to be able to grow with new clients during that time underpins our strength and the added value we can bring to clients.”
