Before choosing a company to take on the PR work for your project, it’s crucial you know enough to make the right choice. Has the company got good reviews? Have they got any specialties? How much experience do they have?
As such, we’ve put together everything you need to know about Bird Consultancy, including our background in PR, the sectors we specialise in, and a few examples of our past successes.
Who are Bird Consultancy?
Bird Consultancy is one of the longest established independent communications and PR companies in Manchester, founded and managed by namesake and CEO Chris Bird. Bird Consultancy is built upon over 25 years of experience, with Chris having worked in the newspaper and commercial radio industries, also being a former director of Manchester City Football Club, and serving on the PLC board of JD Sports, before forming the company in 1990.
“My philosophy has always focused on 3 very important factors. Build strong relationships, ‘if your heart isn’t in it, your head may as well be empty’, and always deliver a return on the trust our clients have invested in us.
Our approach to business is very simple; be honest, take pride in what you do, believe in your clients and their businesses, put people first and charge a fair price for the work that you do.”
Chris Bird, Founder & CEO, Bird Consultancy
Bird Consultancy now operates from The Sharp Project, a hub for digital and creative businesses, utilising experience and knowledge to offer services in PR, digital content and event planning.
At the forefront of Bird Consultancy’s expertise is public relations and communications. Bird’s background in the PR industry means the team can effectively and efficiently construct PR strategies and deliver campaigns for projects in all sectors, big and small, using various platforms both traditional and digital. Bird has a strong focus on relationships, meaning that alongside producing and distributing high quality press and media releases, we can set up connections with key people and organisations in relevant industries.
One of the key platforms to utilise in the 21st century is that of online digital content and social media. Not only is this a way of effectively communicating and responding to customers, but it’s also a great way of influencing your reputation. Bird Consultancy have a wealth of experience in putting together and implementing strong social media campaigns on all relevant communication channels.
Another great method of creating PR exposure and creating a great reputation, is through the planning of events. Bird Consultancy have helped plan many high-profile events, including conferences and exhibitions, for varied clients. Not only is the event organisation given a helping hand by Bird, but ensuring it can be as successful as possible in terms of attendance and revenue is covered with our PR knowledge and reputable connections.
Bird Consultancy also works personally with celebrities as well as businesses. Many talented public names require assistance with their communications, and someone to handle their media management. Bird has supported many people, dealing with sponsorship, personal appearances, press conferences and sensitive issues. A lot of the well known clients Bird has worked with can’t be disclosed, but sports stars including Ronnie O’Sullivan, Dame Sarah Storey and Stuart Pearce have all worked with Bird Consultancy.
Although Bird Consultancy caters to clients of all sizes and industries, there are several notable specialities we’ve built up through working in particular sectors.
Firstly, with CEO Chris Bird having been heavily involved Manchester City and JD Sports, it seems only right that Bird Consultancy has a great sporting PR portfolio. We cover various aspects of the sporting spectrum, including working with talent, planning and promoting events, and handling media management and sponsorship. Currently, Bird is focusing on the young entrepreneurial side of the retail industry, brimming with passion in finding the talent of the future. Specifically, Bird is currently assisting with the communications and vision side of Manchester Youth Market, a project that helps those aged 16-30 to develop and test their business ideas.
