Born and bred in Manchester
Born and bred in Manchester, I am proud of my city but guilty of taking the amazing opportunities it has to offer for granted.
Working at Bird over the past 2 years has given me the chance to work with many Manchester based projects and provided me with a better view on what the city has to offer.
For the past few months I have been working closely with Manchester City Council and Bird’s nominated charity of the year – the We Love MCR Charity, who we have pledged to support by dedicating £25,000 worth of PR hours.
For a while now we have been involved in a new project developed by the We Love MCR Charity, which I am excited to say, is now up and running!
The pop up Manchester Youth Market is a brand new initiative that will give young Mancunians the chance to sell their own products to the public. I have loved every minute of being involved with the planning and development of this project which I think is very relevant to the city. Manchester is a place where new and exciting projects are created all the time….and I’m now lucky enough to be a part of one.
The initiative went live on the crowd funding platform SpaceHive in June and we have every hope of hitting our £55,353 target to secure its future.
I am a big fan of people who have an idea and believe in it enough to make it happen. I take my hat off to everyone who has developed their own ideas into a career prospect and become their own leaders in business.
I believe that Manchester is the perfect platform for giving young people opportunities and being able to support them by being involved with creating an initiative like the Manchester Youth Markets, gives me a great sense of achievement.
