2017 Yearly Round-up at Bird Consultancy
As we come to the end of each year at Bird, we like to take the opportunity to reflect on many of the exciting things we’ve been involved in with our brilliant clients.
2017 has been busier than ever for the team at Bird. We’ve had the opportunity to continue working with some of longest clients, whilst also beginning relationships with some new clients too.
January kicked off in full force with a huge event for one of our newly appointed clients CJUK, the leaders in Interim Chef recruitment. Bird delivered their annual chef conference at Accrington & Rossendale College, an event to engage with their Chefs and discuss the future of their business.
We’ve also been involved with a number of high profile deals. We made the announcement of Double Gold Olympian, Joanna Rowsell-Shand joining Sports Tours International as their worldwide ambassador, and a sponsorship deal between Footasylum and TV Channel, Box Nation. We also managed an Instore meet and greet at Footasylum’s Manchester Arndale store with fans queuing to meet the boxers and have their picture taken.
Keeping in line with our sporting heritage, we were appointed to manage the launch of the Virtual Grand National. The Virtual Race ran on ITV4 on the Friday night prior to the big race itself. Our social campaign saw the TV trailer gain 90k views, and the press release 70k views in just a couple of weeks.
With this, Bird was a part of 2 TV firsts! You may have noticed the race aired on ITV this year (for the very first time!) so ITV dressed up the good news (literally) by clothing the King Edward VII monument in front of Liverpool’s iconic Liver building. The photo op featured ITV Racing presenter, Ed Chamberlain and weather girl, Lucy Verasamy, whilst the former King… turned Jockey showed off his orange and green silks in the background.
Moving from horses to holidays, we assisted with the launch of a brand new leisure brand, Whereabouts Holidays in April. Offering a fresh approach to active holidays, Whereabouts Holidays is aimed at anyone looking to discover the world differently. We secured coverage locally and nationally, via The Manchester Evening News, The Guardian and the Sunday Mirror.
Continuing our relationship with one of our longest clients, Sports Tours International, we’ve been involved in a variety activity. From their highly successful UK events such as the UKFast We Love Manchester 10K and Tour of Tameside, to their worldwide sporting events.
Bird was retained by NUS extra student discount card for a 7th consecutive year, and the team have also continued its work in housing, welcoming new client Onward Homes, one of the largest and longest standing providers of social housing in the North West.
As a business, we understand the importance of CSR. That’s why we were very excited about the opportunity to work with one of Manchester’s newest charities, Young Manchester. Young Manchester is a brand-new charity set up to support youth and play services in Manchester. We created and delivered the launch event in November, bringing in key speakers including JD Sports, Fred Done of Betfred and Sue Woodward OBE, founder of The Sharp Project. The event was a huge success seeing seats full of guests ready to get involved with the goals and actions of the charity.
2017 was also the year that we launched a new in-house service. Bird now has a graphic design department in place budding with creative ideas. From designing print brochures to digital content for social media, we do it all!
We could carry on listing all of the fantastic work we’ve been involved in throughout 2017, but with a new year nearly here, we’d like to take the opportunity to wish all of our friends and clients a very Happy New Year and we hope 2018 brings success for all.
