The Team
The founder of the
company is Chris Bird, who set up the agency back in 1990.
His business background is steeped in media, and his corporate know-how has led him to advise a number of high-profile companies.
Prior to setting up Bird, he was Sales and Promotions Controller for Piccadilly Radio plc in Manchester and still has a close involvement with radio both nationally and regionally.
Chris is very much involved with the day-to-day operation of the business and continues to be hands-on with our clients. He combines this with a number of other roles which include: non-executive Director of J.D. Sports plc; Chairman of the Lord Mayor of Manchester's Appeal; Director and Trustee of CAFÉ (Centre for Access to Football in Europe, a UEFA funded charity); Trustee of National Association of Disabled Supporters.
In addition he's Chief Executive of Sports Tours International - one of Europe's largest sports tour operators. He has been awarded the Putting Something Back Award by Insider Magazine for his corporate social responsibility work in the Manchester community.
Chris says: "The one thing I cannot abide is standing still! I have an appetite to succeed and a real fear of failure. This is what drives me to get as much out of a working day for my clients and their business interests everyday."
"Chris Bird is an
outstanding PR expert - a genuine professional in a field where there
are plenty of amateurs. He is skilled and effective, and is held in
very high respect by Fleet Street executives. He delivers excellent
results for his clients and has that special talent for making sure
that all parties to a deal come away highly satisfied. On top of that
he is a straightforward and most entertaining individual whose word can always be relied
on. It has always been a pleasure to do business with him".
