DISNEY ON ICE – VIP NIGHT
An event for Manchester based celebrities and their families to attend Disney On Ice at the Manchester Arena.
The objective was to create a feel-good family event, giving celebrities an exclusive evening to enjoy with their families when the ice show came to town, encouraging celebrity endorsement and ultimately media coverage.
We dressed a room at the Arena for a VIP pre-show reception and created an environment catering for the children with party food, music, face painters and children’s’ entertainer. We also arranged a surprise visit from two special guests from the show, giving the children the opportunity to have their photos taken with Disney stars. Invitations were extended to both Manchester football clubs and celebs from local TV & soaps. We also invited the Manchester Evening News with a photographer.
An evening attended by high profile footballers from Manchester City and Manchester United, plus stars from Coronation Street, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks with their families. The event was a resounding success with excellent feedback from all attendees and gaining extensive coverage across various media including Mail Online, Manchester Evening News and MEN Online gallery. The coverage had a huge impact on ticket sales for the rest of the performances resulting in an overall year on year increase in sales.
DISNEY ON ICE – SPINNINGFIELDS EVENT
A free family fun-day with Disney On Ice at Spinningfields with outdoor screenings of Disney films.
Families are not necessarily looking ahead in the middle of summer for an October ice show. We wanted to generate awareness of the show to a captive audience during the school summer holidays in August.
We approached Spinningfields for an association with their Screenfields events and arranged a run of Disney film outdoor screenings in August. The association was launched by a family fun day with a stage & presenter, face painting, children’s entertainment and an appearance by a special Disney guest, plus chances to win prizes and tickets to see the show. Promotional material in the form of facemasks, bookmarks and stickers were handed out during the event.
A packed feel-good fun day for all the family promoted via various partner outlets and on social media, generating awareness of the event and the October ice show itself, resulting in a noticeable increase in ticket sales at what would otherwise be a quiet time for sales.
