Bird Blog: Royal Exchange, Olympics and…erm marmite sideburns! - 20th July 2012
The Bird gang have been out and about this week. It began with a trip to see A Midsummer’s Night Dream at Manchester Royal Exchange on Monday night. Claire and Kate gave it rave reviews - apparently it’s the funniest Shakespeare play they’ve seen. So if you fancy a laugh a minute trip to the theatre, check it out!
Pete was chatting to Corrie’s Audrey at Tatton Park, when he went down to the RHS Flower Show with our client New Charter Housing. They got a big thumbs up from the judges and they took home the Silver medal for their garden. Congratulations New Charter!
We mentioned last week we were off to Spinningfields to see Sale Sharks launch their new rugby kit, which is sponsored by our client Canterbury. It was a great turnout and even the rain didn’t stop us enjoying our first summery Pimm’s of the year!
Everyone’s ‘mad for Manchester innit our kids!’ We’ve always been proud to live in Manchester, and it’s officially a top place to be! It was revealed this week that Manchester is Britain’s Boom City, with the population growing to almost three times the national average. Manchester is home to some of the greatest bands, shops, businesses and of course the best football team in the world….Manchester City! (we’ll ignore those red devils in the office shaking their heads in disagreement!)
It’s the final countdown for the biggest sporting event on the planet. The build-up to the Olympics has been kerrrr-azy! The Olympic lanes that have been created on roads in London have given us a bit of inspiration - we are now campaigning to introduce Bird lanes in the office to help us get to work quicker!
Everyone’s showing their support for Bradley Wiggins in the Tour De France final this weekend - even Pete who tried to recreate those famous sideburns…but he can’t understand why it was such a struggle to pull it off using bread and marmite!
That’s all for this week, have a good weekend and we’ll catch you next week!
